This recipe is my current favorite DIY! I love it because it’s seriously amazing soap, and it only takes a few minutes to make! Every.single.one of you reading this should be making this hand soap. Traditional soaps from the store are full of “fragrance” and other potentially toxic chemicals, or if you’re buying natural soap, it’s probably much more expensive than just making your own.
Foaming Hand Soap
-
1/3 cup castile soap (I use Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Baby soap)
-
1 Tbsp fractionated coconut oil
-
10 drops essential oils
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups distilled water
- Mix coconut oil, essential oils, and castile soap together in jar
- Add water and swirl to combine
Another great thing about this recipe is that it’s totally approximate. I just squirt the soap and coconut oil into the jar and then add the essential oils. And then fill the jar half way with water.
Scent suggestions:
Christmastime
10 drops Christmas Spirit + 3 drops Peppermint
Spiced Orange
5 drops thieves + 5 drops orange
Lemongrass
8 drops lemongrass + 3 drops lemon
Note: This soap doesn’t contain preservatives, so use within 1 month of making (You don’t have to, but I figured I should write this!)
I love this foaming hand soap top from Amazon. It just goes on a normal canning jar and they work really well!
